Wood Functionality in Sustainability

Sustainability is the ability to exist constantly. In the 21st century, it refers generally to the capacity for the biosphere and human civilization to co-exist. It is also defined as the process of people maintaining change in a homeostasis balanced environment, in which the exploitation of resources, the direction of investments, the orientation of technological development, and institutional change are all in harmony and enhance both current and future potential to meet human needs and aspirations.

Wood is an easy to use, functional and aesthetic product. One of the most important features of sustainable designs is that it develops and expands its uses while having a permanent place over time. Examples of functional and sustainable wooden facades.

Sustainability is a rare issue in Turkey with its usage area and functionality. This is because we are not able to use natural resources and we limit the material and design areas used in architectural fields when managing this situation.
